Preparing STIHL, HUSQVARNA , OLEO-MAC scythes for the season

Preparing the scythe for the season requires little maintenance. The basic operation is to remove debris, especially grass clippings, from the space between the cutting tool and the bevel gearbox.

If there is any mixture left in the fuel tank from the previous season, it is absolutely necessary to remove it from the tank. Fill the tank with freshly prepared mixture. Check the condition of the air filter and spark plug. If during the inspection we find contamination or damage to these components, they should be replaced with new ones.

Let's check the condition of the cutting tools we will use. Replace the damaged head or disc with a new one. If you are working with a vein head, it is essential to check the condition of the cutter that cuts off the excess vein coming out of the head. Keep in mind that operation without this component can cause overloading of the drive system and serious failure of the device. It is imperative to lubricate the bevel gear before the season. To lubricate the gearbox, we use a special company lubricant based on molybdenum disulfide.

If the technical condition of the handles and carrying straps does not raise any objections, we can proceed to start the device.
