Drive unit. Oleo-Mac/Nibbi MH450/KAM13S - versatile year-round use
Drive unit. Oleo-Mac/Nibbi MH450/KAM13S is an offer for demanding users who expect maximum functionality from one machine all year round. Most traditional gardening machines have limited functionality and are usually only used for one task - such as mowing or tilling. Oleo-Mac/Nibbi single-axle micro-tractors with the MH450/KAM13S unit, with the right adaptation and selection of attachments, make it possible to perform a wide variety of jobs:
- mowing lawns and meadows with mowing attachments,
- cultivation and loosening of soil in home vegetable gardens, orchards and plantations,
- ploughing for sowing vegetables, cereals or root crops,
- snow removal from driveways, sidewalks, access roads and yards,
- sweeping of paved surfaces, maneuvering areas and paths in municipal facilities.
With this broad application, one drive unit can replace several separate machines, saving storage space, reducing service and fuel purchase costs, while maximizing equipment utilization throughout the year.

Oleo-Mac/Nibbi MH450/KAM13S drive unit - powerful HONDA GX 270 engine and geared transmission
At the heart of the Oleo-Mac/Nibbi MH450/KAM13S drive unit is a powerful, heavy-duty proven HONDA GX 270 cm³ engine. It is a professional drive unit, known for its exceptional durability, low fuel consumption, easy starting and quiet and even operation. Thanks to it, the micro-tractor develops high power, which is necessary when working with demanding attachments such as wide tillers, plows or rotary snowblowers.
Drive is transmitted through a robust oil-lubricated gearbox, which significantly extends the life of the entire system and reduces operating costs. Compared to belt or chain gearboxes, a geared solution provides:
- better torque transfer to wheels and accessories,
- greater resistance to overloading when working in harsh soil conditions,
- lower risk of failure and reduced service requirements.
Mechanical engine starting allows the machine to start quickly even at lower temperatures, which is crucial for winter snow removal. The combination of a renowned HONDA engine with a robust Oleo-Mac/Nibbi transmission creates a drive unit that works well in both home gardens and intensive farms.

Precise operation and comfort - 180° rotating handle and wide speed range
Operating Oleo-Mac/Nibbi micro-tractors equipped with the MH450/KAM13S drive unit is extremely convenient thanks to the ergonomic steering wheel, which can be rotated 180°. This solution makes it possible to instantly adapt the machine from working with front-mounted attachments (e.g., snowplow, sweeper, mower) to working with rear-mounted attachments (e.g., tiller, plow). It only takes about half a minute to change the configuration and no tools are required.
The operator has a multi-speed transmission offering 3 forward gears and 3 reverse gears. Such a range makes it possible to fine-tune the driving speed to the type of work being performed and the terrain conditions:
- very slow gear ratios (approx. 1.05 km/h) ideal for heavy work in clayey, hard soil,
- medium speeds for standard tillage, cultivation and plowing,
- higher speeds (up to approx. 4.41 km/h) for faster transport, mowing or sweeping of large areas.
This makes the Oleo-Mac/Nibbi MH450/KAM13S drive unit suitable for both precision inter-row work in orchards and plantations, as well as for large-scale landscaping where efficiency and time savings are important.
Locking differential - maximum traction in difficult terrain
The MH450/KAM13S is equipped with a differential (differential) with a locking mechanism. Its task is to transmit equal torque to both drive wheels, which is of great importance when working in varied, often uneven terrain. When one of the wheels loses traction (e.g., in a rut, on mud or wet grass) or temporarily pulls away from the ground, the differential lock allows you to continue driving steadily.
When the differential is locked, the micro-tractor behaves as if it has a rigid axle. With this:
- it more easily overcomes terrain obstacles, soil mounds and ruts,
- maintains a stable line of travel when plowing or deep loosening the soil,
- does not bury as easily in soft soil or snow.
This translates directly into operator safety and efficiency of the work performed. During everyday use - such as preparing beds, working between rows of fruit trees or clearing snow from steep driveways - the differential lock ensures that the MH450/KAM13S drive unit can handle where simpler machines fail.
User safety - Oleo-Mac/Nibbi's well-thought-out security system
Oleo-Mac and Nibbi attached great importance to operator safety when designing the MH450/KAM13S drive unit. The machine is equipped with a number of solutions to minimize the risk of accidents during intensive work:
- simple and effective engine switch - allows you to immediately stop the drive unit in an emergency situation,
- clutch lock - prevents uncontrolled starting of the machine,
- power take-off (PTO) engagement lock - prevents accidental engagement of reverse gear when the PTO is active, and vice versa, which protects the operator and those in the vicinity of the work attachment.
Such solutions increase safety not only for professional operators, but also for private users who are new to single-axle micro-tractors. The advanced safety system is especially important when working with a tiller, plows or mowers, where the working elements rotate at high speeds.
