What is Oleo-Mac 1.3 mm 3/8" 57 guide link cutting chain 30629018C?
The presented model is professional cutting chain for petrol chainsaws, designed for intensive work in cutting firewood, construction timber and tree care. Thanks to the use of semi chisel type cutting teeth the chain combines high cutting aggressiveness with high resistance to dulling, which is especially important when working in variable terrain conditions.
Designation 3/8" determines pitch of the chain, which influences the cutting characteristics - in this case, it ensures rapid work progress while maintaining adequate guidance stability in the wood. Groove width 1.3 mm is a standard found on many multi-purpose and semi-professional saws, giving a very good compromise between the strength and lightness of the cutting set.
57 guide links is the length of chain matched to specific models of Oleo-Mac saws and bars. Adequate number of links guarantees correct tension, smooth guidance along the guide, and optimum operation of the lubrication system.

Where the Oleo-Mac 1.3 mm 3/8" 57 link cutting chain 30629018C is mounted?
The chain is designed to be mounted on the bar of a petrol chainsaw. It fits selected models of Oleo-Mac chainsaws, including:
- Oleo-Mac GS 371
- Oleo-Mac GSH 40
- Oleo-Mac GSH 400
Proper installation involves placing the chain on the sprocket and guide bar so that the the cutting teeth are directed in the correct cutting direction (usually forward on top of the guide). Then adjust the chain tension so that it it adheres to the bar but can be moved freely by hand with a gloved hand. Proper tension and lubrication have a huge impact on the life of both the chain and bar, as well as the entire chainsaw.
The chain can be successfully used as:
- factory equipment new chainsaw,
- replacement chain when replacing worn accessories,
- spare chain taken to work in the woods or on the allotment to quickly continue cutting if blunted.

Use of Oleo-Mac 1.3 mm 3/8" 57-link chain - from home gardening to professional forestry work
Thanks to its thoughtful design and the use of high-grade steel, oleo-Mac cutting chain 30629018C works well in a wide range of jobs:
- Cutting firewood - Quick sawing of logs into clearings, shortening of logs to the appropriate length, preparation of wood for the winter.
- Cleaning work in the garden and orchard - Removal of thick branches, pruning of volunteer trees, maintenance work on fruit trees.
- Construction and repairs - cutting beams, scantlings, structural planks and roof trusses.
- Forestry work and forest plots - Toppling and thinning of medium-diameter trees, preparation of sawn timber.
Semi-chisel teeth provide stable guidance in the wood and perform well in conditions where minor dirt may appear in the cut material (bark with sand, resin). The chain is therefore an ideal choice for those who do not always work in perfectly clean conditions, and who need an accessory with a high resistance to dulling.

Oleo-Mac cutting chain 30629018C - quality, durability and reliability for demanding users
By choosing original Oleo-Mac chain, you are investing in a product that has been proven and refined for safety and efficiency in operation. The manufacturer draws on years of experience in the chainsaw and forestry equipment segment, which translates into a number of important benefits for the user.
1. High quality steel and precision workmanship
The chain links and cutting teeth are made of high-grade steel, resistant to deformation and fatigue. A special heat-treatment process hardens the working surface, increasing abrasion resistance. In practice, this means less frequent chain sharpening and a longer period of trouble-free operation.
2. Half-chisel type cutting teeth - the optimum compromise between aggressiveness and durability
The shape of the half chisel is less sensitive to dirt than a full chisel, so the chain retains its sharpness better in garden and household work. At the same time, it maintains high cutting performance, making it also great for more intensive, professional applications.
3. User comfort and safety
A properly selected and sharpened Oleo-Mac chain minimizes the tendency of the saw to kickback, facilitates precise guidance along the cutting line and reduces operator fatigue. Less vibration means greater comfort, which is of great importance for longer cutting sessions.
The most important benefits of buying Oleo-Mac 1.3 mm 3/8" 57 link cutting chain 30629018C

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about Oleo-Mac 1.3 mm 3/8" 57 link chain 30629018C
1. Will this chain fit my Oleo-Mac chainsaw?
The chain has been dedicated to models GS 371, GSH 40 and GSH 400. If you have a different model, check the saw manual for the required pitch, guide link thickness and number of links. If the parameters are 3/8", 1.3 mm and 57 links, the chain will also fit your bar.
2. How often should you sharpen your Oleo-Mac chain?
The frequency of sharpening depends on the intensity of work and the type of wood being cut. For typical home use, it is recommended short sharpening after each day's work. Thanks to the half-chisel teeth, the chain maintains its sharpness longer, but contact with soil, sand or stones significantly accelerates blunting.
3. How to properly tension a chain?
After installing the chain, loosen the bar nuts, adjust the tensioner so that the the guide links fully enter the bar groove, at the same time, the chain could be moved by hand with a glove. Then tighten the nuts and recheck the tension after a few cuts - the new chain may stretch slightly.
4. What oil to lubricate the chain with?
For lubrication, use special chain oil for chainsaws. It is suitably viscous and suitable for high speed operation, which effectively protects the links and guide from overheating and accelerated wear.
5. When to replace the chain with a new one?
The chain is eligible for replacement when:
- the cutting teeth have become very short after repeated sharpening,
- cracks appear on links or rivets,
- the chain has stretched so much that it cannot be properly tightened,
- despite sharpening, the saw cuts very slowly and unevenly.
6. Will this chain work well for cutting hardwoods?
Yes, the Oleo-Mac chain with 3/8" pitch and half-chisel teeth copes very well with both soft wood (spruce, pine), as well as harder species (beech, oak). However, it is important to sharpen regularly and lubricate properly, especially when cutting hardwoods intensively.
