What is the Stihl FS120 FS200 FS250 NZ1062 muffler and how it works in a petrol cutter?
Stihl FS120 FS200 FS250 NZ1062 muffler is a component of the exhaust system of the two-stroke engine, used in popular models of Stihl lawnmowers and trimmers. Its task is:
- reducing the noise generated by exhaust gas leaving the cylinder,
- stabilization of pressure in the exhaust system, which translates into even engine operation and power,
- protection of the user and the environment from direct exposure to hot exhaust fumes.
In practice, this means quieter, more comfortable operation of the scythe, less operator fatigue, and a lower sound load on the environment. A functioning muffler is also crucial for proper carburetor adjustment and low fuel consumption.

Where does the Stihl FS120 FS200 FS250 NZ1062 muffler mount and what models does it fit to??
Stihl FS120 FS200 FS250 NZ1062 muffler mounts directly on the engine cylinder, in place of the factory muffler. It is fixed with screws at the points provided by the device manufacturer. As a precision-manufactured replacement, this muffler fits perfectly into the original mounting holes and exhaust channels.
Model NZ1062 is equivalent to the original Stihl muffler with the number 4134 140 0602 and fits popular petrol scythes:
- Stihl FS120, FS200, FS250 - Classic, powerful scythes for professional and semi-professional use,
- Stihl FS120R, FS200R, FS250R - Versions with a bent shaft, ideal for precision work around obstacles,
- Stihl FS300, FS350, FS380 - Powerful trimmers for heavier applications, including brush and young regrowth.
Thanks to its wide compatibility, one muffler model can serve the entire fleet of equipment in a gardening company or farm. In daily use, replacing a damaged or burned-out muffler with the NZ1062 restores proper noise levels and engine power, whether the mower is working on a home lawn, roadsides or large municipal areas.

Use of Stihl FS120 FS200 FS250 NZ1062 muffler in daily work
The NZ1062 muffler is used wherever Stihl petrol scythes work intensively and in difficult conditions. It works well in professional service companies as well as on farms and for demanding private users.
Example applications:
- Maintenance of green areas - Mowing lawns, roadsides, embankments, drainage ditches or sidewalk edges, where quieter and stable engine operation improves operator comfort and reduces nuisance to the environment.
- Work in agriculture and horticulture - Mowing inter-row weeds in orchards, vineyards, plantations or pastures, where the reliability of the exhaust system translates into a lower failure rate of the entire machine.
- Municipal and forestry applications - clearing areas of dense thickets, youngsters and undergrowth, where the scythe works for a long time at high load, and a suitable muffler helps maintain optimal engine performance.
In each of these scenarios, an efficient muffler reduces nuisance noise, which is important for workplace safety, user comfort and hearing protection. Stable exhaust gas pressure also influences easier starting, even idle and less risk of overheating of the drive unit.
Stihl FS120 FS200 FS250 muffler NZ1062 - quality, durability and reliability for years to come
The design of the NZ1062 muffler was selected for long-term operation in demanding conditions. Durable heat- and corrosion-resistant materials translate into safe and reliable operation. Tight welds and precision manufacturing of spigots and interfaces minimize the risk of leaks that could lead to a decrease in power, increased noise or contamination of adjacent components.
Choosing this suppressor:
- you increase the lifespan of your scythe - Proper exhaust gas flow reduces excessive engine heat and strain on the exhaust system,
- you reduce service costs - A durable replacement means less frequent replacement of parts and less downtime at work,
- you provide comfort - lower noise level and stable engine operation allow you to work longer without excessive fatigue.
Stihl FS120 FS200 FS250 NZ1062 muffler is a great choice both for the planned reconditioning of an older scythe, and for the quick removal of the effects of damage to the original muffler (for example, after being hit by stones, corrosion or burning out of the muffler chamber).
