Knife 490MM for OM98L / GLX14 series tractor G182004346E0 - professional cutting blade for perfect lawn care

490MM BLADE FOR OM98L / GLX14 SERIES TRACTOR G182004346E0 is a high-quality, precision-manufactured working blade for garden tractors designed for heavy-duty use and even lawn mowing. This cutting element is a key component of the mowing system, responsible for clean cutting of grass blades, aesthetic visual effect and proper turf development.

The offered blade was designed specifically for use on tractors of the series OM98L and model GLX14, so it fits perfectly dimensionally and ensures safe installation. Carefully selected blade geometry, proper material hardness and balance minimize vibration while mowing, increase operator comfort and extend the life of the entire tractor mower.

Built-in mounting holes allow you to quickly and precisely put the knife on the knife hub, and the use of durable tool steel makes the blade well able to withstand impacts on small obstacles, such as pinecones or small pebbles, while maintaining sharpness for a long time.

Technical parameters:

  • length: 490 mm
  • width: 58 mm
  • center hole diameter: Ø 18 mm
  • side hole diameter: Ø 8.5 mm
  • distance between side openings: 65 mm
  • purpose: for OM98L series tractor; GLX14

The above dimensions make the blade perfectly compatible with the cutting unit of OM98L/GLX14 tractors, ensuring correct operation of the drive, adequate air flow in the housing and effective lifting of the cut grass into the basket or ejection.

This is the 490MM KNIFE for OM98L / GLX14 series tractor - the heart of your tractor's mowing system

490MM BLADE FOR OM98L / GLX14 SERIES TRACTOR G182004346E0 is a factory-fitted consumable component, without which no garden tractor can effectively mow the grass. It is a 490 mm long steel blade that rotates at high speed under the cutting unit, precisely cutting the grass to the set height.

Specially contoured blade tips not only cut, but also produce a powerful airflow that lifts the blades before cutting. This ensures that the turf is evenly trimmed and the grass is not "ragged" but cleanly cut, which reduces its yellowing and improves the condition of the entire lawn. In practice, this means that after mowing, you don't have to worry about frayed grass tips or unsightly "clumps".

Durable knife material resists bending and cracking under typical working conditions. Properly hardened steel provides the right compromise between hardness and flexibility, so the knife stays sharp while not being easily damaged. This translates into long life and less frequent need to replace the blade, which directly reduces equipment maintenance costs.

For everyday use in home gardens, recreational plots or areas around businesses, this knife guarantees repeatable and predictable mowing results. Whether you're grooming a few acres or a larger plot, the 490mm blade is capable of efficiently cutting grass, allowing you to quickly clean up a large area.

Where the 490mm OM98L / GLX14 knife is mounted and why proper installation is so important?

The 490mm blade G182004346E0 is mounted on the in the cutting unit of the OM98L series garden tractor and the GLX14 model. It is attached to the knife hub with a screw passing through the central hole Ø 18 mm and additional stabilizing points, using side holes Ø 8.5 mm in the spacing 65 mm. Such a solution guarantees stable seating of the blade, eliminates backlash and reduces the risk of vibration during operation.

Proper knife installation is crucial for three reasons:

  1. User security - A solidly mounted blade minimizes the risk of it coming loose or unscrewing at high speeds, protecting the operator and those nearby.
  2. Mowing quality - the proper positioning of the blade ensures that the blade works evenly with respect to the ground, so that the grass is cut evenly, without unsightly "stripes".
  3. Tractor protection - balanced and properly mounted blade reduces the load on the shaft, bearings and drive, significantly extending the life of machine components.

In practice, the installation of the 490 mm blade comes down to:

  • set the tractor on a level surface and protect it from accidental starting,
  • raise the front or side section to access the cutting unit,
  • unscrew the old blade and insert the new one in the same position (paying attention to the direction of cutting),
  • tighten the mounting screws to the correct torque, according to the recommendations of the tractor manufacturer.

The use of this particular blade on dedicated OM98L/GLX14 models eliminates the need to adjust or rework mounts. This, in turn, allows for quick replacement even for less experienced people - all you need is a wrench of the right size, and the whole operation can be carried out by yourself in the garage or driveway.

Application of the 490mm blade for OM98L / GLX14 series tractor in daily lawn care

The main purpose of the blade G182004346E0 is for mowing lawns with garden tractors. Thanks to its length and profile, it is perfect for both dense, representative turf and more usable areas where the grass is sometimes taller and tougher.

Examples of practical applications:

  • Home gardens - Regular cutting of grass on plots of several to a dozen acres. The blade allows you to achieve an even, aesthetically pleasing finish, similar to park lawns.
  • Recreational plots - A quick cleanup of the area after the weekend, when the grass has had time to grow up. The blade handles taller grass well, providing efficient mowing without frequent clogging of the unit.
  • Areas around companies and public buildings - Maintaining neat greenery around offices, warehouses, schools or sports facilities, where both aesthetics and working time matter.

With the right blade profile, you can use different functions of the tractor - rear ejection, side ejection (if available on the model) or mowing with a basket. The blade creates an airflow that efficiently transports the cut grass to the basket, minimizing the need for additional raking.

During the busy mowing season, replacing a worn blade with a new one, like this 490 mm model, reduces the number of passes over the lawn (better first time cutting) and reduces fuel consumption - a sharper blade puts less resistance on the engine.

Key features of the 490mm OM98L / GLX14 knife - length, balance, durability

When choosing a blade for a garden tractor, it is worth paying attention to the three most important performance parameters: blade length, its balancing and durability of the material. The 490MM blade for OM98L / GLX14 series tractor excels in each of these areas.

1. Optimum length 490 mm
The length of the blade corresponds to the width of the mowing strip. 490 mm is a dimension ideally suited to the design of the OM98L/GLX14 series cutting unit, guaranteeing:

  • full coverage of the entire working width without "dead zones."
  • no collision with the aggregate housing and other components,
  • high mowing efficiency - fewer passes needed to cover a given area.

In practice, this means faster mowing with the same amount of fuel and less wear and tear on the tractor.

2. Precise balancing
Precise balancing of the blade has a huge impact on comfort and safety at work. An unbalanced blade generates vibrations that:

  • reduce operator comfort (shaking steering wheel, noise),
  • can accelerate wear on bearings and knife hubs,
  • cause uneven cutting of grass.

The 490mm blade on offer has been factory-balanced, which, combined with accurate assembly, keeps vibration levels very low even at high operating speeds. This is especially important for longer mowing sessions, such as on large properties.

3. High-quality steel and durable coating
The knife is made of wear-resistant steel that retains sharpness well and does not dull quickly. In addition, the surface of the blade is coated with a protective layer (varnish/anti-rust coating) that:

  • protects against rust resulting from working in humid environments,
  • makes it easier to clean after mowing (grass sticks less to the surface),
  • extends the life of the entire component.

In practice, all you need to do after the season is to clean the knife of grass residue and, if necessary, preserve it with a thin layer of oil or anti-corrosive agent, so that you can use it for years to come without any problems.

Benefits of replacing the blade in the OM98L / GLX14 tractor with a new model G182004346E0

Regular replacement of the cutting blade with a new factory model brings a number of tangible benefits to the user, which you will quickly feel in the daily use of the garden tractor.

Better mowing quality and healthier grass
The new blade cuts grass evenly and cleanly, without jerking. This reduces the risk of fungal diseases, and the edges of the stalks do not turn yellow. The lawn looks denser, healthier and more manicured - this is especially noticeable in the representative areas in front of the house or business.

Higher productivity
Sharp and well shaped blade allows you to cut more grass in one pass. The tractor does not "tire" as much, the engine runs more evenly, and fuel consumption becomes more economical. This is important especially for large areas, where each additional trip means real time and cost.

Lower drive load and lower service costs
New balanced blade puts less strain on the shaft, bearings and other components of the mowing system. In the long run, this reduces the number of malfunctions and service visits, and preserves the tractor manufacturer's warranty (when using original or recommended replacements).

Comfort and safety of use
Reduced vibration, lower noise, and the assurance that the blade is firmly attached - all of this contributes to the convenience of work. The user can focus on driving the machine and avoiding obstacles instead of worrying about whether the blade will be damaged.

Replacing the blade with a new model G182004346E0 is a simple way to rejuvenate Your OM98L/GLX14 tractor and noticeably improve the quality of mowing without investing in a new machine.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions about the 490mm blade for OM98L / GLX14 G182004346E0 tractor
