Cedrus CEDZG120L compactor with flat edges, 120 kg – 25 kN, for preparing the ground along edges
The Cedrus CEDZG120L 120-kg flat-edge compactor is a gas-powered plate compactor designed for preparing subgrades for pavements and other earthwork projects. It is used for the layered compaction of soil, ballast, and materials used in paving and construction work. 25 kN of centrifugal force—transfers energy to the ground during successive passes. Weight: 120 kg – increases operating pressure and plate stability during compaction. 55 × 50 cm plate – defines the width of the strip and the area in contact with the ground. These solutions are most useful on construction sites, for driveways, sidewalks, pavers, and earthwork projects. The motor drives the vibration system, and a heavy plate transmits rapid vibrations and pressure to the prepared subgrade layer. Even the basic specifications illustrate the device's functionality and the scope of operation for which it was designed. The following sections describe the most important technical features and their actual impact on work speed, machine handling, and the final result of the task being performed.
A powerful engine and high performance
Equipped with a 4.1 kW Loncin G200F engine with a displacement of 196 cm³, the compactor delivers a compaction force of up to 25 kN, enabling effective compaction of the subgrade to a depth of 40 cm. A vibration frequency of 4,200 rpm and an operating speed of up to 23 m/min ensure efficient and comfortable operation. The large 3.6-liter fuel tank ensures a long runtime without interruptions.

User-Friendly Design and Practical Features
The Cedrus CEDZG120L is equipped with a foldable handle for easy transport and storage, as well as a protective motor guard that enhances the unit's safety and durability. The set also includes transport wheels and a silicone mat, which is especially useful when working on cobblestones. The lack of a reverse side does not affect comfort of use thanks to the optimally designed plate .
25 kN centrifugal force—an important factor for regular use
25 kN of centrifugal force—transfers energy to the ground during successive passes. The motor drives the vibration system, and a heavy plate transmits rapid vibrations and pressure to the prepared subgrade layer. Force, flow, or speed are most important in batch processing, when a single cycle is repeated many times. This parameter helps determine whether the device is suitable for the scale of the planned task and whether it will become a bottleneck in the entire process. This is specific information about job opportunities.

Weight of 120 kg – a factor affecting operational stability
Weight: 120 kg – increases operating pressure and plate stability during compaction. The motor drives the vibration system, and a heavy plate transmits rapid vibrations and pressure to the prepared subgrade layer. Weight is a key characteristic of the entire machine: it affects stability, downforce, and ease of movement outside the work area. With regular use, well-planned operation of heavier equipment allows you to take advantage of its stability without placing an unnecessary burden on the operator. This is a practical parameter both during work and before it begins.
55 × 50 cm plate – working range in a single pass
55 × 50 cm plate – defines the width of the strip and the area in contact with the ground. The motor drives the vibration system, and a heavy plate transmits rapid vibrations and pressure to the prepared subgrade layer. This feature directly affects a single pass or a single work cycle. The better it matches the actual size of the task, the easier it is to take full advantage of the machine's capabilities without having to make an excessive number of turns. This is especially important when the material or site requires several consecutive stages of work.
The device is designed primarily for outdoor use—on construction sites, near residential and industrial buildings, in parking lots, on sidewalks, and on patios. You can use it m.in. at:
- laying pavers on driveways, walkways, and patios,
- preparing and compacting the base course for garden paths and the perimeter around the house,
- compacting the subgrade layers beneath building and fence foundations,
- road construction projects—sidewalks, parking lots, maneuvering areas,
- road resurfacing projects in areas surrounding single-family homes and public buildings.

Using the Cedrus CEDZG120L Compactor in Day-to-Day Operations
The Cedrus CEDZG120L compactor is designed for intensive, daily use. A maximum operating speed of 26 m/min allows for efficient order fulfillment, reducing substrate preparation time and lowering labor costs. With a compaction depth of 40 cm, the machine can handle both the top layer of ballast and the deeper layers of the subbase.
Examples of practical applications:
- Building a Driveway to the Garage – compacting the aggregate and base layer under the pavers so that the driveway does not settle or crack after a few seasons.
- Preparing Garden Paths – leveling and compacting the subgrade for sidewalk slabs or pavers, which ensures an attractive appearance and the stability of the walkways.
- Foundation Work – compacting the subgrade beneath foundation footings, terraces, and retaining walls to prevent subsequent structural deformation.
- Parking lot made of pavers or slabs – a stable and level surface that can withstand vehicle traffic and changing weather conditions.
- Repair of a sunken road surface – removing a section of the paving stones, replenishing the base course, and recompacting it, which allows for a precise repair without replacing the entire surface.
Thanks to the Cedrus ZG120L:
- Prepare the base as it should be — stable, durable, and without sagging.
- You work faster and more efficiently—without having to make corrections or do the same work twice.
- You have equipment that just works—no stress, no downtime, and no breakdowns.
- You get a complete set that's ready to use right away.

Where the Cedrus CEDZG120L compactor with flat edges shows what it can do?
The Cedrus CEDZG120L compactor with flat edges (120 kg) performs best on construction sites, for driveways, sidewalks, pavers, and earthwork projects. It is primarily used for the layered compaction of soil, ballast, and materials used in paving and construction work. The motor drives the vibration system, and a heavy plate transmits rapid vibrations and pressure to the prepared subgrade layer. Compaction depth up to 40 cm – specifies the maximum stated working depth in the relevant material and layer. No reverse gear—the simple design is intended primarily for forward motion. In practice, the greatest benefit comes from using the equipment regularly for precisely these types of tasks, because then each operating parameter has a predictable effect on the time required and the result. Before starting a major project, it’s a good idea to plan your route, where to set aside materials, and how to work within the work area, and to check the settings according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This allows you to make better use of the device's full capabilities, minimize unnecessary corrections, and maintain a more consistent workflow from start to finish.
What are the benefits of the Cedrus CEDZG120L compactor with flat edges for larger, repetitive tasks??
The Cedrus CEDZG120L compactor with flat edges is designed for contractors or users who need consistent compaction over a larger area. The key features of this configuration are: centrifugal force of 25 kN, weight of 120 kg, plate size of 55 × 50 cm, a 196 cm³ Loncin G200F engine, a compaction depth of up to 40 cm, and no reverse gear. Each person is responsible for a specific stage of the work, so it’s important to look at the entire cycle: preparing the equipment, ensuring the mechanism operates properly, operating or controlling it, and completing the task. The basic process works as follows: a motor drives the vibration system, and a heavy plate transmits rapid vibrations and pressure to the prepared subgrade layer. By properly matching the equipment to the scale of the operation, you can reduce the time spent on auxiliary tasks, better plan subsequent runs or batches of material, and achieve more predictable results. The practical usefulness of the product described stems from its clearly defined purpose, technical specifications, and the way its individual components work together in everyday use. Matching the device to its intended use should be the most important selection criterion.
The Cedrus CEDZG90L-F compactor is an excellent choice for professionals who expect quality, durability, and cost-effective performance. It works well for preparing the subbase, compacting the ballast, and during paving projects. This model is for those who want to well-made and built to last, and not “just anything will do”.
